Borrego: A Dark Sky Community

Babes Ride Out

Borrego Springs was designated as California’s first International Dark-Sky Community. It is a center for public astronomy activities throughout the year. Oct 5th-6th the moon will be new under Libra. This means you won’t be able to see even a tiny sliver of it’s surface but in return you will see the entire Milky Way , tons of shooting stars, and orbiting satellites.
The ‘free standing art’ above was created by ‘Perris Jurassic Park’ owner/artist/welder Ricardo Breceda based in Perris, California. There are 129 metal sculptures located in Borrego Springs.
